My passport expires in October, going to Malta in August for family holiday do i need to renew before i go?
My Passport expires in October 2012, my mother in law told me she thinks i need to renew it before we travel to Malta for two weeks in the summer as a passport has to show 9 months validity. I thought as long as your passport not expired it should not be a problem....But to renew a passport i would have to send the old one off. I have read through the passport renewal form but it does not say how long your passport has to have in date.Thank you for your replies, yes it is a British passport. I have followed up on the links you have added and it does appear as long as in date we should be fine. Just had to pay out for a child's passport and a child to new adult passport so was hoping i could delay another one a bit longer.

I am trying to plan my vacation to Malta, and I would love some advice on how much to set aside for our budget. I am planning a vacation for me and my boyfriend, a romantic getaway. Is Buġibba, Malta a nice town to visit?
I found a nice hotel in this town on hotels.com and it doesn't seem that bad. For me personally if I go to Malta I would like to visit Valletta, Mdina and Gozo. Is it easy to visit these places while staying here? And are there bus services from Luqa Airport to Bu ibba? However staying near a beach is more important for the rest of my family. To those of you who have been to this town or live in it, what do you think of it?Thank you
Where to stay in Malta?
My family and I are planning on going to Malta for a week, but we're having trouble finding a nice place to stay. I want to stay somewhere where I can do some sightseeing and get a good feel for Maltese culture, my Mom wants somewhere with nice restaurants and where there are also lots of things to do and my aunt just wants to be near a beach. To me Valletta is perfect, it has restaurants and many things to see and do but are there any buses you can take to the beach? Sliema has been recommended to me and if we stay there we can take the ferry to Valletta but it doesn't seem to be somewhere where I can really experience Maltese culture. What are your thoughts on this and where would you recommend to stay?
