What is life like in Croatia today(Zagreb particularly)?
I've been in America since 2001. All I know is in the 1990's people didn't get their paychecks regularly...and wages were low. Have things changed? Hopefully because I know things were tough then because a war was going on...and Croatia just gained independce. I am a nurse here. I'm asking this because I've always been homesick...Croatia is so beautiful...I just don't want to go back and have to deal with things like not getting my paycheck.

Me and my friend have a week booked in Split in a villa with friends however we want to fly out before and go around the country islands abit. We want to know the best affordable way to do this as we're on quite a tight budget. The traveling would only be 10 days max.
